What I want to do is take the primary list id and insert it into custom task field.  I want to be able to have both my primary workflow enabled list and the task list on the same page, and to filter from the primary through web part connections.  getRelevantTaskID worked in that it fetched me the task id, but upon using this task is to update it's list, the task's list, i get errors.  I got different error messages in the workflow based on what data type is defined when telling SharePoint Designer 2010, which fields to use to find, so that updates are correct.

Any help would be great!

This problem may caused by many different issues.

Could you try the latest version of alterTaskByTaskID.wsp?   Recently I fixed a bug which is caused by workflow locks.
